Taking a bet on me. Because I can.

You know, for the past 3 and a half years I’ve really began to explore the next chapter of my life. The chapter that includes, business, love, growth, friendships and maturity as a whole. This chapter is never an easy one, however one of the most important in my eyes. I put so much emphasis on this chapter because it lays the foundation for the things that will make or break you in the future. Some may look at studying abroad as an escape from what’s to come in the future. As for it’s quite the opposite. As Gary Vaynerchuk once said, in the early stages of your life, it’s all about data collection, always documenting the process. That is exactly what I’ve done to set myself apart. Because what you focus on expands and progress without measurement is not progress. I know that every-time I post something into the world I will never know if it effects people the way I truly want it to. My goal by the time I die, is to have the ability to go up to anyone and have a positive impact on their live after a 60 second interaction with them. In order to do that I know two things. I must have an amazing source of self awareness and I must recognize that person’s truths and their faults. I believe I am on my way to achieving just that.

Next year I graduate from college. That’s scary as hell for most people, but as for me I flirt with the idea. These past 24 hours I had to sleep in an airport for the third time my study abroad experience.. Definitely, not one of my most favorite times abroad but one of the most centering. There’s never a time to test yourself more than when your money, your freedom and your ability to execute on definite plans are on the line. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned to be self reliant and I’ve learned to make it work when I really have to. Everyone possesses the ability to do this. But personally it took falling on my face a few times to make it happen. Love the struggle. Feel the satisfaction that comes with a job well done after the odds we not in your favor. Whether you believe this or not, you were programmed to think a certain way… Have you every stopped to ask yourself why you speak the language you speak? Why do you wake up when you do or why do you even recognize that there is a system in place to begin with? Ask yourself many of these deeper questions and question everything. Seek answers for yourself.

After this semester abroad I am never more ready to take a bet on me. And you should too! It really shouldn’t take different food, language and music to teach you that you were made for more than to be a part of some system. Now I am incredibly grateful to have had the resources I did to get me where I am. But in the end, it’s about just doing what makes you happy. If you have a voice inside, that speaks up whenever you tell your ideas to someone you have what it takes. You possess the ability to rise up and summon within the ability to achieve more in your life. Take that voice and nurture that thing. Feed your mind with the good, the clean and the pure. Too much of what is out there these days is nothing but distraction propaganda from our everyday lives because we quite literally choose to avoid the small things because we know it will lead to having to handle the big things. It feels better to accomplish something small and call it a victory, then it does to sacrifice the normal standard of living for following a dream for a lot of people.

If you’re reading this, stop what you’re doing. Stop reading and do these three simple things.

1- Count down from 5 and do one push up.

2- Splash cold water in your face and look yourself in the mirror.

3- Ask yourself the hard questions.

I promise you, this will have a significant impact on your life, your mission and your purpose. Not to mention break your habit loops from doing whatever unproductive things you were about to do later. Set a course of action, do it with drive and treat it like you have no other option. “Plan B distracts from plan A.” I think that a lot of people realize what their calling is when they don’t realize they’re doing it.
